With 2,500 kms of bike paths, Alsace is the paradise for bike tourism in France. The beautiful half timbered villages, the leisurely bike paths through the vineyards and the historic art cities of Strasbourg and Colmar can be enjoyed all from your bike. Between the Jura Mountains and the Palatinate Forest you will experience a fascinating landscape. The lovely hilly landscapes along the Wine Route, interspersed with picturesque villages and mysterious castle ruins, alternated with extensive floodplain landscapes along the Rhine. Experience the warmth of the Alsatians, their lively traditions and the flavours of Alsatian wines first hand on this bike tour.

Tour Profile
Level 2: You will cycle mainly on cycle paths, tarred agricultural roads and minor roads with little traffic. On days 5 and 6 are slightly hilly along the wine route.

Day 1: Arrive Strasbourg
Individual arrival in Strasbourg, make your own way to the hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free at leisure.

Day 2: Strasbourg - Sélestat / Surroundings (Approx. 25-65 kms)
After breakfast, you will leave Strasbourg along the Rhône-Rhine Canal, which will take you along its very pretty cycle track into the heart of the Ried.

Day 3: Sélestat / Surroundings - Colmar (Approx. 50-65 kms)
Today, you will travel through the landscapes and villages of the Alsatian Ried, which is rich in aquatic flora and fauna. Arrive into Colmar, the Capital of the wine region of Alsace and the town of art, by the cycle track of the Channel of Colmar.

Day 4: Colmar - Guebwiller / Surroundings (Approx. 35-45 kms)
After breakfast, depart from Colmar following the French Wine Route. The dreamy wine growing villages, with many Alsatian timber frame houses and magnificent Medieval Town centres in the midst of extensive vineyards are areas for unwinding, enjoyment and simply relaxing.

Day 5: Guebwiller / Surroundings - Riquewihr / Surroundings (Approx. 40-50 kms)
At the foot of the Vosges Mountains nestles winemaking villages responsible for the reputation of the Alsatian Grand Crus: Eguisheim, Turckheim, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr.

Day 6: Riquewihr / Surroundings - Obernai / Surroundings (Approx. 35-50 kms)
Today, cycle along the wine road where you will discover the Villages of Barr, Andlau and its Abbey, Bergheim, Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr.

Day 7: Obernai / Surroundings - Depart Strasbourg (Approx. 40-55 kms)
After breakfast, country roads and cycle tracks will take you from Rosheim and to Avolsheim. From there, travelling along the cycle track on the banks of the Bruche Canal, you will reach the Capital of Europe Strasbourg. Individual departure or extension. End of Services.
