Transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Ho Chi Minh City. You will be picked up at Ho Chi Minh City airport for a private transfer (no guide) to your accommodation for check-in.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh, VietnamCu Chi tunnels Half-day Experience
Get an early start around 07:45 and head to the historic Cu Chi tunnels (Ben Dinh), approximately 70kms away from central Ho Chi Minh City. The Cu Chi tunnels represent one of the most famous vestiges of the Vietnam War and one of the keys to Vietnam’s victory. This vast and amazing subterranean network consists of over 200kms of tunnels connected with one another in an intricate cobweb formation. With determination and endurance, the tunnels were dug with rudimentary tools and the openings were camouflaged so well that no enemy could find them. Upon arrival around, 9:30 am, view a short presentation video about the Cu Chi tunnels originally used during the Vietnam War before experiencing the famous tunnels from the inside. Crawl into these fascinating underground dwellings to get a feel of the stamina and grit it took to live in the tunnels. Afterwards, you can try the steamed tapioca root which was the main staple food in Cu Chi during the war. Next, for those interested, there will be an opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range (not included). Around 13:30 pm, we will be back in Ho Chi Minh, where the tour will come to an end.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta, VietnamEnjoy a boat ride along Mekong River
Start your day with an 08:30 pick-up from your centrally located hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Then head to the city of My Tho by bus. During the 1.5-hour bus drive to My Tho, learn about the cultures of the local people and enjoy the nice scenery of green rice fields. Visit Vinh Trang pagoda, the biggest pagoda in Mekong Delta. Continue to My Tho and take a boat trip along Mekong River. During the cruise, see fish cages and floating houses on the river. The boat will take you to a small canal, where you can escape the busy town. The cruise through the coconut trees lined canal will take you to a coconut island in Ben Tre. Disembark, walk around the village and visit a local family to enjoy tropical fruit, taste honey tea, honey wine and listen to Vietnamese traditional music, performed by the villagers. Continue walking on the village’s road to a coconut candy shop to learn how to make candy and see some handicrafts made from coconut trees. Take a walk through the village and discover many kinds of fruits, flowers, trees, and local houses. Take your time and take nice photos while enjoying the natural scenery. Then, head to a local restaurant and enjoy a local Vietnamese lunch under the tree shade. After lunch, have free time to walk or bike around the village, then travel by ferry and bus to Can Tho, the heart of Mekong Delta.
Day 4: Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh, VietnamStart your day by visiting Cai Rang floating market, later in the day travel back to Ho Chi Minh.
Enjoy a 06:30 am breakfast and then take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river. Afterwards, proceed to visit the Cai Rang floating market, which is the liveliest in the whole region. Take in the beautiful scenery and the daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals. Next, you will roam through the village, see fruit gardens and visit a rice husking mill and a noodle-making shop. Then, head back to the riverside for lunch before traveling back to Ho Chi Minh where you will arrive at around 5:00 pm with unforgettable memories.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh - Phnom Penh, VietnamBus from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh
Transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh. Please make your own way to the bus station to catch your bus to Phnom Penh. Upon your arrival in Phnom Penh, make your own way to your accommodation to check in.
Day 6: Phnom Penh, VietnamFree Day
Phnom Penh is Cambodia’s busy capital and sits at the junction of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap rivers. Walk along the riverfront, which is lined with parks, restaurants and bars, as well as the ornate Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum.
Day 7: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap, CambodiaBus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Transfer from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Please make your own way to the meeting point to catch your bus to Siem Reap. Upon your arrival in Siem Reap, make your own way to your accommodation to check-in.
Day 8: Siem Reap, CambodiaEnjoy a full day in Angkor Wat
You will be picked up in the morning and you will first visit the Angkor Thom complex. Bayon temple, with 54 towers and 216 faces of Budhhistsatva Avalokestesvara, is the highlight of all the temples in the center of Angkor Thom City. Then we continue to visit several other historic sites such as Baphoun, the Ancient Royal Palace, the Elephant terrace and Ta Prohm temple. Ta Prohm temple is the temple where gigantic tree roots have grown that was made famous by the Hollywood film Tomb Raider and starring Angelina Jolie. Before we continue to other interesting sites, we will have lunch (at your own cost). In the afternoon, we will see the temple of Angkor Wat which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage since 1992. Then, we will drive you back to your hotel.
Day 9: Siem Reap, Cambodia - Bangkok, ThailandBus from Siem Reap to Bangkok
Transfer from Siem Reap to Bangkok. Please make your own way to the meeting point to catch your bus to Bangkok arriving around 4 pm. End of services. stop at Tanoa close to Khao San Road in Bangkok.
