9 Days / 8 Nights - March 2026 - December 2027
Day 1 - Christchurch
Welcome to Christchurch! This evening is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little better in a relaxed atmosphere over food and drinks.
Day 2 - Christchurch to Lake Tekapo
Explore iconic, downtown Christchurch this morning before we head towards Lake Tekapo, located in the stunning Mackenzie Region. Think it's beautiful by day? just wait till you see the night sky.
Day 3 - Lake Tekapo to Queenstown
Today we drive from Lake Tekapo to Queenstown and it's quite the showstopper. From the golden tussocklands of Mackenzie country to the dramatic peaks of the Southern Alps, the views seem too beautiful.
Day 4 - Queenstown
We have a full day in Queenstown and there is a myriad of different ways you can spend it! You can paraglide over the Lake Whakatipu, swing through a canyon, jump out of a plane, hike some of New Zealand’s most picturesque trails or rent a bike and head out on a day mission to seek solitude away from the hustle and bustle! If you can, we recommend scheduling in a full day to visit Milford Sound, also known as Piopiotahi. Whether you fly or drive, the scenery en route is as awesome as the destination. Once in Milford, sailing beneath thundering waterfalls and towering cliff faces, you’ll understand why it's been famously dubbed the “8th Wonder of the World”
Day 5 - Queenstown to Wanaka
Wake up in Queenstown for one last morning of exploring, then drive over the Crowne Range to Wanaka, stopping in historic Arrowtown and enjoying the scenic Cardrona Valley views before arriving in beautiful, relaxing Wanaka.
Day 6 - Wanaka to Franz Josef
Spend the morning exploring Wanaka your way, with options like skydiving, a flying lesson, or a lake cruise to Mou Waho Island. Then travel to Franz Josef on one of New Zealand’s most scenic drives, stopping at stunning lookout points and photo spots along the way, before arriving late afternoon/early evening to relax for tomorrow’s adventures.
Day 7 - Franz Josef
Franz Josef sits in a stunning UNESCO World Heritage setting near the famous glacier, with Aoraki/Mount Cook in the background. Today you can carve your own pounamu (greenstone) pendant, then spend the afternoon exploring the glacier area with options like a helicopter hike, kayaking, or a national park walk, before optional group karaoke in the evening.
Day 8 - Franz Josef to Christchurch
After breakfast, travel the stunning rugged West Coast with rainforest and wild beaches, stopping in Hokitika for a greenstone factory (and possibly the National Kiwi Centre). Then cross the South Island via Arthur’s Pass to Christchurch, arriving early evening for your final night to celebrate, eat out, and reflect on the trip.
Day 9 - Christchurch
The tour has officially finished. Spend today at your leisure.
